General Policies

  • Current and valid University I. D. Card required to enter.
  • Water, in a re-sealable container, is allowed in the cardio area of the Strength & Conditioning Room (& other cardio areas). No other beverages allowed except for the TV Lounge area and vending area located on the first floor of the Campus Rec Center.
  • Only white or light-colored soled athletic shoes are allowed on wood floors in recreational and sport court surfaces. No sandals, open-toed shoes, or boots are allowed in any activity area.
  • No spitting on floors, walls, water fountains, restrooms sinks, etc. Spittoons are located in Rec Center Weight Room (Ground Level) and adjacent to Indoor Track (Level 2).
  • Thirty (30) minute limit on all fitness/cardiovascular equipment (including fitness bicycles, rowers, steppers, elliptical trainers, and treadmills).
  • Headphones must be used with all personal radios and other electronic listening devices.
  • The possession, use and/or distribution of alcoholic beverages, drugs, tobacco products, and dangerous weapons are not allowed in any facility, as defined by the University's Student Code of Conduct.
  • Animals are not permitted in facility, except trained service animals.
  • Roller blades/skates and skateboards are prohibited from use in any facility, including outdoor court spaces.
  • Bicycles, mopeds, and motorcycles are prohibited from being brought into/used in campus buildings as defined by university regulations. Motorcycles and mopeds must be parked in designated parking areas; bicycles must be stored in the racks provided outside the facilities.
  • Youth age 4+ years must use respective restrooms/locker room.
  • Campus recreation is not responsible for any personal items left unattended and/or unsecured in any facility. Personal items may be placed in day-use lockers which are available in the locker rooms and hallways.
  • Failure to abide by these policies, regulations posted in facilities, or requests made by any campus recreation employee can result in ejection or suspension from building and program privileges. Campus Recreation's complete Misconduct and Ejection Policy is available at www.unl.edu/crec.
