About the Project
- This is an extensive project to renovate the locker rooms, add strength training & conditioning space, as well as allow for improved access to the swimming pool at the Campus Recreation Center (CREC).
- Funding is provided by the Campus Recreation Department, and no student fee dollars or additional fees and donations are required for project completion.
- Construction is set to begin in late November 2023 with an anticipated completion time by Spring of 2025.
How This Impacts Students and Members
General construction:
Will be ongoing and may impact equipment locations, require space modifications, and there may be additional noise throughout the process.
Closures:
The following areas are now closed for the duration of the project:
- Men's and women's locker rooms
- Men's and women's sauna
Alternate Pool Hours
We are now able to offer an alternate location for open swimming at the Devaney Center (1600 Court Street, Lincoln, NE 68588) on select days. The Devaney Center pool will be available for Campus Recreation members from 10 a.m.–12 p.m. on:
- Thursday, April 25
- Tuesday, April 30
- Thursday, May 2
After these dates, we will reassess future availability and times. Please note:
- UNL Parking has enforcement responsibility for the lots adjacent to Devaney Center. There is meter parking available through the Passport program.
- Members will need to enter through the Hendricks Center entrance (southwest area of Devaney).
- You will swipe in at the Devaney Center as you would at any Campus Recreation facility.
- Locker room space is limited with gender-based changing rooms.
- Bring your towel. Towel service will not be available.
- Devaney is set up as a competition pool. Getting in and out of the pool may not be easily accessible and depths are different.
- Outside of the pool, the rest of the Devaney Center is restricted to Campus Recreation members.
