The champion from each division (M, W, and C) will be invited to participate in the NIRSA National Flag Football Championships held in Stillwater, OK on the Oklahoma State University campus from December 18-20, 2023.

The champion from each division will receive a monetary stipend, plus a paid entry fee to attend the NIRSA National Flag Football Championships. This is not a cash award and teams must attend the national tournament to receive the award.

To register, have your teams complete the NIRSA Code of Conduct, NIRSA Waiver (one per player), Player Certification Form (with university seal), Regional Entry Form, and remit the entry fee by Wednesday, October 25 at 5 p.m. (CST). Extensions may be granted if requested before the deadline date.

We require the physically signed forms with the university seal. However, you may submit digital copies, as placeholders only, by the entry deadline and bring the physical copies the weekend of the tournament.

A mandatory captain's meeting will be held at the Campus Recreation Center, 841 N. 14th Street, on Friday, November 3 at 5 p.m. (CST). For traveling teams unable to attend the Friday meeting, an alternative captain’s meeting will be held on Saturday, November 4, at 7:30 a.m. (CST).

Please let teams know that in order to play, a valid university/college photo id must be shown by all players before each game. Roster changes must be completed before the first game and each player listed must complete the NIRSA waiver and be properly listed on all forms. Medical insurance coverage will not be provided to participants by the tournament. However, athletic trainers will be on duty during all games. Your assistance will be needed in making sure appropriate medical and travel insurance is secured for each participant.

After we have received the registration forms and entry fee, schedules will be posted on our website crec.unl.edu/intramural-sports by Wednesday, November 1. After all Saturday games are completed, the bracket for Sunday will be sent out to captains. NIRSA Flag Football rules will be enforced throughout the tournament. Flag belts and footballs will be provided, although you may bring your own.

We ask that all players wear jerseys of the same color with numbers. Players must wear pants or shorts without pockets. Pants with pockets of any kind (zippers, snaps, etc.) will not be allowed. You will not be allowed to turn your pants or shorts inside out. There is a possibility of playing some tournament games indoors, so we recommend that you also bring tennis or turf shoes.

In addition, we invite you to send your top flag football officials to work the tournament. Clinicians will be on staff to help the officials improve their craft and bring their contributions back to your campus. Officials will be paid $10.00 per game.

There are a limited number of spots available. Priority will be given to officials from schools that have flag football teams entered in the tournament and/or are in Region 5. A mandatory officials meeting will be held Friday, November 3, at 4:30 p.m. at the Campus Recreation Center. Free lodging will be provided for all traveling officials. The entry fee ($250 per team) and all forms must be received by Wednesday, February 14 at 5 p.m. CST. Extensions may be granted if requested before the deadline date.
